Glimpse (a 98-word story)
He saw her writing poetry. She was disguising the fact but he noticed. He recognized the signs of writing something that’s too close to the heart to be shared. He wonders now what she was writing about.
He wants to read it, just for a glimpse of her.
He wants to know how the light in her eyes travels through her arm to her fingertips, through her pencil, right down to the strokes of the graphite on paper. He wants to travel beyond the paper, underneath it, to the world she just created.
But she hides it away.
